Health Fund Approved
Service Description
Our Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) treatment is a gentle, rhythmical therapy designed to support the body’s natural lymphatic system and promote overall wellbeing. MLD Prep: 1. Stay Hydrated 2. Avoid Heavy Meals- Eat light about 1–2 hours before your appointment. 3. Wear loose Comfortable Clothing 4. Use the Bathroom Empty your bladder just before the session. MLD stimulates fluid movement, which may increase the need to urinate afterward. 5. Communicate with Your Therapist Let them know if: You have any medical conditions (especially lymphedema, heart conditions, infections, or cancer). You're pregnant or recently had surgery. You're taking medication or have any allergies. 6. Know What to Expect MLD involves very light, rhythmic strokes, not deep tissue work. It should never be painful. You might feel sleepy, lightheaded, or need to urinate after. This is a foundational-level clinical service delivered by therapists with foundational MLD training, focused on safe, effective techniques to assist with fluid movement, reduce congestion in the tissues, and support the body’s natural detoxification processes. This style of treatment uses light, precise, and structured movements that encourage lymph flow without deep pressure or discomfort. MLD may be beneficial for: • Reducing bloating and fluid retention • Supporting immune system function • Mild to moderate lymphedema support • Post-injury swelling management • Chronic pain and inflammatory conditions • General fatigue and sluggish recovery • Post-operative or post-trauma recovery support (where appropriate) While this is not an advanced or specialist lymphatic drainage service, it provides a supportive and effective option for clients seeking relief from swelling, congestion, and systemic load, as part of a broader treatment plan. Treatment is always tailored to your presentation on the day, with a focus on comfort, safety and supporting your body’s natural recovery processes.
Cancellation Policy
Payment, Bookings and Cancellations □ I understand full payment fee is required on the day of consultation. □ I understand that at least two hours’ notice needs to be given prior to making an appointment. □ If I cancel my appointment on the same day it is scheduled I will be charged a $30 Cancellation fee. The cancellation policy is in place to make sure appointments are kept available for others who need them and that you respect the therapists time. □ If I fail to show up or cancel within an hour of my appointment, I will be charged the full (100%) appointment fee. Please understand that this is the therapists full-time job, and they rely on their appointments to support themselves. Cancelling within an hour or not showing up leaves the therapists out of pocket with not enough time to fill that spot. □ I appreciate that sometimes life can be unpredictable and short notice may be unavoidable, in such cases in situations out of client’s control, this policy will be advised and considered individually. □ I understand that if I have any contagious condition, explicitly cold or flu, I will give the therapist as much notice as possible. If I arrive to my appointment with any sign of sickness my appointment will be rescheduled, and I will be sent home.
